No Place for Snow

No Place for Snow, 20" x 16", oil/panel, click to enlarge
It's been a slow spring here in Ontario.  It's cold and all the plants are hesitating to come out of hibernation.  This little flowering tree is my way to encourage the weather to change over to warmth.  It's supposed to get up into the 20 Celsius range on the weekend with sun.  So maybe my magic is working!

Water

Islands in the Narrows, 30"x60", oil/panel, click to enlarge

More experimentation with the idea of water and islands. As I continue to explore the subject both technically and metaphorically, it seems that there is more to be discovered.

Sitting in front of the painting in the studio for long periods allows me the time to see what "comes up".

I also continue to refine the painting methods for creating a sense of water.

This painting will be shipped to Hunter Kirkland Contemporary in Santa Fe later this month for their summer exhibit.
