Front window of Bau-Xi Gallery in Toronto

My galleries in Toronto and Vancouver, Bau-Xi Galleries, are celebrating 50 years in business. I've been showing with them since 1987. It's a great place to exhibit and present my work. The staff are amazing. My painting of a spring tree in blossom is in the front window. Great exposure!

Sway, 24"x48", oil/panel, click to enlarge
Mid February in a bitterly cold winter period always seems to make me want to paint palms.  The current frigid temps are doing just that.  Here is my effort to recall the luscious tropical palms I so enjoy when walking along the beach.  I present just the tops to give the idea of a dreamy late afternoon stroll with warm breezes swaying the fronds, making me feel wonderful.

Amalfi

Amalfi, 54 x 48, oil

Just completed this commissioned painting over the holidays. I enjoyed the opportunity to visit the collector's Toronto home to see where it will be hung. This helped me make some artistic decisions as I worked on the piece.

The image is both about trees, and also about love.
